Phindela senior primary school

Our History

The school was established in 1983. It was built on the land donated by the man by the name of Mr Phindela Khwela, hence Phindela Primary School. The school is situated at Golokodo area, 7km from the town of Umlazi, South of Durban. It is located in an informal settlement where unemployment is high hence it is a quintile three no fee school. Most of our learners depend on social grants.

School principals, in order of assumption are as follows:
Mr Langa (1983-1988).

Mr Maphumulo (1989-1993).

Mr Ngcobo (1993-2017)

Mrs Maphumulo (2017-2021)
Mr Hlela (2021 to date).

Since the school enrolment has been growing over the years, now the school is experiencing a challenge of overcrowding and shortage of classrooms since currently there are 954 learners (grade R-7)
